As I mentioned in the previous blog, I still have pictures of those labs in action. These pictures were taken in Dubai, last year.

I remember the Malaysian delegate was so eager in asking the details of what it takes to have them operational.
From what I learned, Lucky and Flo are just "prototypes", as a living prove that K9 can be trained to sniff optical discs. Meaning they are there just for a show and actually had never been used in actual case by Customs officers. I don’t know whether the case in Malaysia is any different.

I visited Manila last week attending the Asia Pacific Group in Money-Laundering 9th Annual Meeting. We stayed at Century Park Hotel since the missed the Philippine Plaza already fully booked. The Philippines Plaza was the first choice recommended by the committe since it’s just across the street from the meeting plase, the Philippines International Convention Center (PICC).
The Meeting went well (as usual for this kind of meeting) but it was shorter than the last one we had in Cairns, Australia in 2005.
Indonesia officially helms the co-chair spot replacing Japan and will host the Typhologies Working Group Meeting this year (October?).

Ahmadinejad, the Iranian President, is now in Jakarta. Although he is considered as renegade by US and the likes, he is very popular here. He met with the President, Vice President, Speaker of the House, sealed some deals on economic cooperation, among others.
He managed to gave open lectures (stadium generale?) in two top Universities, and even gave a recommendation to students asking for scholarship. Quite a successful visit.
Any one knows why Iranians do not wear ties?
